HISTORY

The London North Rotary Club was chartered as the 51st club in District 633 (now 6330) of Rotary International on February 26, 1977. Initial membership was 38 men who represented a multitude of classifications.

Currently, 5 of those original members are still in the Club.

In 1990, Mary Margaret Patterson became the first female member of the London North Rotary. At the present time, women represent 20% of the active membership of the Club.

In August 1984, the Club was incorporated in the Province of Ontario and since that time has been officially known as The London North Rotary Club Inc.

The London North Rotary Club Inc. established a charitable foundation following incorporation, which is known as The London North Rotary Club Foundation. This foundation is the primary supporter of bursaries for 4 London High Schools for continuing education at the University of Western Ontario and Fanshawe College.

Individual donations are received annually, which are used to directly support projects, or can be designated by the donor to be invested for a minimum of 10 years and the interest only can be used to support projects.
